So, this column in the LA Times seems just a little bit sad. Perhaps it deserves a response.
Oh, heck no. The Trumpites next door to our pandemic getaway, who seem as devoted to the ex-president as you can get without being Q fans, just plowed our driveway without being asked and did a great job.
And? He's being neighborly. He doesn't expect anything except a thank-you.
But I can offer a standing invitation to make amends. Not with a snowplow but by recognizing the truth about the Trump administration and, more important, by working for justice for all those whom the administration harmed. Only when we work shoulder to shoulder to repair the damage of the last four years will we even begin to dig out of this storm.
So, the question becomes: Who did the Trump administration hurt? I'm not asking about hurt feelings, I'm asking about quantifiable harm? I'm happy to stand with anyone and demand redress, but first we have to define the harm. From my perspective, I can show that the Biden administration, through acts of intent or neglect, have harmed more people in two weeks than the Trump administration harmed in four years. I'm willing to be convinced otherwise, but I need specific evidence
But, in the fianl analysis, your neighbor doesn't want to make amends. He has done nothing wrong. He only plowed your driveway so that you could get into your "pandemic getaway", which happens to be net to his home. He's a nice guy, let's leave it at that.

The neighbor is a very nice guy.
Sadly, I have had more exposure to people with mental illness than I care for. That means I have had more exposure to counseling.
Every person who counsels hammers on the question "Who can I change?" Of course the answer is "I am the only person I can change."
Mental illness, almost by definition, involves the unbending belief that "I can/should/must change somebody else."
The person who demands that his neighbor change is mentally ill.
This is just sad, but oh so typical. I don't see a rosy neighborly relationship in these folks future.
Kind of reminiscent of the classic incompatibility of established farm operations trying to deal with newly arrived 'city folk' and their urban ideas of what is proper and and acceptable behavior from the comfort of their McMansion housing developments built right up to the fenceline. The newcomers, with their idealized and fantasy thoughts of what a farm is, don't understand what farming really is and what it entails, and that they are the ones who moved to the "nuisance." The farmers want to be neighborly and all, but they have work to do to make hearth and home all hold together.
The country needs to self-apartheid, not around race, but around philosophy of life and living. The ruling global elitists need to stay in their lane, and quit trying to run everyone else's lives. The trouble is that the global elitists goal is to destroy the nation-state that the common folk depend upon for their lives. So there is no way to avoid the conflict. The Democrats and other Leftists who truly and honestly believe in being "woke" and are not just faking it, will find out to their extreme detriment that they will not be left to live their lives either. Globalism requires a return to feudalism, and those that intend to rule really don't need that many earls and dukes in the long run, and with enough technology, not even that many serfs making demands on the planetary resources.
