It seems that there was an event in New Orleans this weekend, and no one was wearing masks or social distancing. Reports indicate that the City erected barricades and police officers were present to watch the crowd.
The mayor, LaToya Cantrell, is outraged. The City council is talking about fines and other penalties.
For the record, it was a Christian music concert. Roughly 400 people attended.
The rumor is that the event promoters applied for a permit from the City, but listed it as a protest. The permit was approved in due course, and the City erected barricades and provided a law-enforcement presence. The police officer, by all reports, had a real easy detail. No problems, no disruptions.
I think it's hilarious. The City may have issued a permit for a post-election protest, but became outraged when it turned into a Christian music concert.
