An Amazing Aviation Story

This is an amazing aviation story.  The pilot managed to put a Boeing 737 down on a levee near New Orleans after losing both engines in a severe thunderstorm.  The passengers didn't get so much s a hangnail.  The aircraft was completely undamaged, except for two destroyed engines.

Did I mention that the pilot in command had only one eye?  The FAA knew about it, but this guy was the type of guy who didn't let something like only one eye stop him.

After he landed on the levee, and got the passengers out, and the company showed up with new engines, they realized that an adjacent road was originally a WWII bombe runway, so they towed the plane over, cranked the engines and flew it off.

I recall hearing about this story on the evening news and in the papers.

Interesting story, and I would wonder what the leading edges and upper surfaces looked like!
