The Colorado Bulldog

So, I was watching the White Russian episode on How to Drink, and I was reminded of the Colorado Bulldog, a drink we used to serve at JJ's Lounge in Natchez, LA.  It's a variation on the White Russian, but I've never seen it served anywhere else.

JJ's Lounge was a small, redneck bar in the tiny village of Natchez, LA (not Natchez, MS) just south of Natchitoches, LA on LA Hwy 1.  There was a highway in front, and a soybean field out back.  Best described as a pig sty with a juke box, I spent many afternoons in there in the '90s, and tended bar there during 1998/99.

The Colorado Bulldog.

In a tall glass filled with ice, mix one ounce good vodka, one ounce coffee liqueur and one ounce Irish cream.  Fill the glass nearly to the top with cold milk, then float a skim of Coca-cola across the top.

Stirred, not shaken.  Drop a straw in it, and  Compliment the lady as you serve it to her.

As far as I know, this drink was invented by Judy Gibson, the owner of JJ's Lounge in Natchez, LA.
