Sunday Conundrum

I heard a while back that Dr. Tony Fauci was planning to retire at the end of Biden's term.

Then, more recently, I heard that Fauci had set a date in late December to retire.

I wonder if he knows something the rest of us don't?

I suspect he is expecting the Republicans to take back Congress; as a private citizen it will be much harder to get him to testify before Congress or hold him accountable for what he did.
Also, early January is considered the optimum time for long time federal employees to retire - and he meets the definition if anyone does!

Then again, with a "friendly" President, there is the statute of limitations to consider. I suspect that he hopes to be safe no matter who replaces Biden. If a real "investigation" never happens, then he is home free.
