Angst and Anguish

Oh, the outrage from some on the Left, concerning the judge's ruling on the mask mandate.  Let's look at a few, shall we?

This is precisely the way it us supposed to work.  The CDC fudged the rules that let the d things, and a federal judge called bullshit.  We on the right are upset when a federal judge ignores the Constitution and the applicable law to uphold a liberal wet-dream and you on the Left are apoplectic when a federal judge calls bullshit on your favorite stalking horse.  That is the way the game works.

Then, there is this whiny post from some doc who thinks that her patient's rights trump mine.

That's sad, doc, but if she is immune compromised, maybe she should stay home.  If life is hard, hers just got harder, and while I can empathize with her, I have no sympathy.  Nobody wept for me last September in Phoenix when I was moving between terminals, gasping for air, and trying to make a connection.

On the other hand, doc, you totally missed the point.  The CDC exceeded their authority.  The judge called bullshit on the mandate.  I would think that someone with as many credentials behind their name would have taken a high school civics class, but I may be wrong.  Go back to your college and demand a refund.  They obviously didn't educate you.

UPDATE** Whatever commented, and it was pretty reasonable, I considered posting it, but then he drooped an F-bomb and I deleted it.  So, Whatever, good try, and keep commenting.  As long as it is reasonable, rational, and not obscene, I'll consider it.

If masks on public transportation are a good idea then it should be debated by Legislature and they should collectively hammer out laws that address the needs of all major stakeholders. Not bureaucrat hiding in a back-room with no accountability to the larger public.

If YOU want to wear a surgical mask in public, then do so, that is YOUR freedom of choice (right). But it is NOT your right to impose your choices or mental health issues (if the shoe fits) on the rest of us.

Advice on wearing mask/respirators. Get the 3M N-95 mask with the valve(they call them cool flow valve these days). They are easier to breath through. And for the love of God, DO NOT get the Chinese knock-offs. Make sure it is 3M, Made in America.

Exactly. If the government feels they need to do it, then Congress needs to pass a law.
The executive branch cannot do whatever they want because they think it's a good idea.

What Judy said.

We use such N95 masks in the oil & gas industry. They work; they protect the wearer, not others, which is what they are intended to do.

Immuno-compromised folks have worn such masks WAAAYYY before COVID. They can & should continue to wear such masks where needed.
But EVERYONE wearing a "cheese cloth" mask is nothing more than virtue signaling, since "cheese cloth" won't even stop dust or pollen.

If the masks are SSSOOOOOO effective at stopping the transmission of the "germ".....then, that person who won't travel to a wedding, should wear one....even if no one else does.

Removal of the mask mandate does not mean that this patient can't wear a mask. She can still wear one. When I was on the kidney transplant service, we had patients from all over the country who wore masks on airplanes when they were highly immunocompromised. Although they wore masks against bacteria, not viruses. To say that she can't travel in tearjerking nonsense.
