It seems that Pete Buttigieg wants to spend $20 million on female crash test dummies. It seems that the science shows that there are major physical differences between male and female humans.
Really, Pete? There are differences between men and women, in body type, muscle mass and bone density? Who would have guessed that? That sort of puts the lie to the whole gender equity model, doesn't t?
I'm just sayin'.

the US auto industry already recognizes the differences between biological women and men.
I used to work in product development engineering for one of the "Detroit 3", and we had both woman and man instrumented crash dummies, designed the shoulder and lap belts to fit both sex profiles, designed the front and side airbags for both profiles etc.
Besides being good for business, it was a Government safety standard.
Maybe what he wants the "new money" for, is to assure the vehicles meet the requirements of the "87 new genders" -- including the one he is part of

Well, I'm tickled plum pink to know that someone in Washington finally figured out that I, as a female, am not anatomically the same as our host here. But to spend 20,000,000 dollars on female crash dummies is a bit too much, don't you think?

I think there are two additional factors to this story.
1) Female crash test dummies are significantly more expensive to manufacture.
2) Buttgieg owns stock in the company that makes them.

Probably should have added "It wouldn't surprise me at all if..." to that first sentence, as I don't KNOW they're true, just wouldn't be surprised if.
