If Whittington Shot Dick Cheney

That's the title of this article in the Bayou Buzz today.

My first thoughts would be that the Democrats in general and the Left Wing in particular would throw a week-long block party, complete with beer and dogs.

The author accuses the VP of drinking beer before hunting. I don't think I've seen anything like that played in the press anywhere. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

We gunnies know that alcohol and gunpowder don't mix. They are a potentially lethal brew and no rational shooter would pick up a firearm after drinking. I don't do anything gun related after I mix a drink. Not reloading, not cleaning, not anything. There is simply too much opportunity for disaster.

This article looks like a lot of WHAT-IF.

I have to admit, my fiance and I have sat on her back porch with a beer and shot a BB gun at a coke can against the woods behind her home. Once again, looking out for us, Pawpaw. We will follow your recommendations.

Have good evening.

Pawpaw,

CNN.com reports that Cheney acknowledged in an interview of having a beer with lunch hours before the shooting.

I believe its the 14 paragraph down or so.

As a bartender and a trainer of bartenders for a large casino here in Nevada, I know your body can metabolize 1 ounce of liquor, 1 4 ounce glass of wine, or 1 12 ounce beer in an hour. As a shooter I know alcohol and firearms dont mix in any way, shape, or form. The Vice Presidents incident just proves that even with experience bad things can and will happen.

Thank you for the great blog.

If Whittington had shot Cheney, it would have been grounds for accusations from the lefty loons that the Bush administration was staging a publicity stunt to gain sympathy.
