There wasn't any, and what's more, Mueller knew it. This was an attempt to get someone to flip, and say whatever Mueller wanted him to say about his boss. A lesser punishment was the incentive to flip to being Mueller's flunky. At this point Mueller will accept anything he can get on his witch hunt, as long as it allows him to take down President Trump.
