Earworm

I heard this song for the first time, over at Murphy's place.  It quickly became an earworm, maybe because it's about a submachine gunner, something with which I have a little experience.  Catchy tune.

This is a variation on the original.

Sometimes, thankless little bush wars are the only wars we've got.

You're welcome.

Warren Zevon is hard to cover--by anybody. "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner" and "Lawyers, Guns, and Money" are two of the haunting best.

Absolutely favorite of Warren Zevon's songs. Nice cover, kind of a haunting voice. My band tried to do this song, but we could not make it sound good enough to make it work. We were kind of perfectionists, and our singers simply had different styles. We had two beautiful female singers, who were amazing, but their style was not suited for this kind of song.
