Well Played, Sir!

It seems that Texas governor Greg Abbott is making good on his boast to bus illegal migrants to the streets of Washington DC.

A bus from Texas arrived in Washington, D.C. Wednesday morning, transporting dozens of illegal immigrants as part of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s new plan to counter federal immigration policies during an ongoing border crisis.

It may have been only severla dozen, but it sends a message.  I think that all the migrants should head to Washington DC and camp out on the White House lawn.  Or to Delaware.  Or wherever Kamala lives.

Paying The Bills

Like everyone, I pay the bills once a month.  I've always been frugal, but when I fully retired in 2019, I had a comfortable buffer between my bills and my income.

Lately, I have noticed that my bills have gone up.  Since last year, about $500.00 per month.  Nothing has really jumped, except my electric bill, which had doubled.  But, they have all incrementally crept up a few dollars so that now I am poorer $500.00 per month over where I was last year.

I attribute this mainly to fuel costs.

My electric bull is almost double, mainly due to fuel costs.

My sewer bull is up.  They have to put fuel in the trucks, and run pumps.

My garbage contract has risen.  Those trucks take lots of fuel.

My cable provider's bill has risen.  They use a lot of electricity.

The water bill has stayed strangely level.  It actually went down a few bucks this month.

I attribute each of these to fuel consts.  And, I put those costs directly at Joe Biden's feet, along with the green energy portion of the Democratic party.  PawPaw ain't hurting yet, but I have tightened my belt a couple of notches.

Audit Everything

There is a lot about last November's election that didn't pass the smell test.  We should audit everything until we restore faith that our elections are free and fair, accurately reflecting the choices of registered voters.

Also, this:

If signature verification is a good thing, then it is always a good thing.

Sure! Defund the Police

It seems that defunding the police ahs lead to a spike in violent crime in those cities that are led by Democrat administrations.

Below, a young reporter reports from George Floyd Square on the anniversary of his death.  How's that working out for you?  Gunfire,, downtown, on the anniversary of George Floyd's death.  Priceless.

Trump Won't Testify

Everyone is reporting that former President Donald Trump won't testify at the show-trail next week.

During my years in the criminal justice system, I learned a couple of things about trails.  First, a defendant has the right to remain silent.  Any good that might accrue from testifying is overshadowed by the fact that the state has an opportunity to cross-examine.

Second, there is a jurisdiction issue.  It appears from a plain reading of the Constitution that the Congress has no jurisdiction over a private citizen.

Third, many Americans believe that this is a show trail, ginned up by the Democrats, who seem to be morphing into Stalinist era tactics to suppress opposition.  Government is becoming more Orwellian by the day.

The Veil Is Lifted

I'm sure that we will be hearing more of this in the coming days, but it appears that House bill 127 is a doozy of  a gun control wet-dream.  Authored by Rep Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), it contains just about everything that the Left has been pumping for decades.

What do they want?  I'll let the FPC explain.

Summary: Establishes a nationwide gun registry that is searchable by the general public, mandates licensing to own or possess a firearm and requires a psychological evaluation prior to obtaining such a license, and institutes magazine & gun bans.

That's just the summary.

Gun bans, magazine bans, mandatory licensing

A gun registry that is searchable by the general public.

Then, it goes full Orwell.  Ninety days after the effective date of the legislation every firearm in the US must be registered.  There is no grandfather clause.  That's right, 2A advocates.  Give made/model/serial numbers to the government.  All of them.  Within 90 days.

About that mandatory license you're going to need.  You'll need a psychological evaluation, and you will pay the government $800 for insurance.

The Democrats currently control the House, the Senate, and the White House.  If you thin that this can't pas, you are wrong.  Creepy Joe would sign this in a heartbeat.  The Democrats don't care one whit for the Constitution, and they are showing us every day.

It's Monday, Now What?

It's Monday and I have some things to do today, working on the club and the state match I'm planning for April.

Yet, I wonder, five days into the Biden presidency, what indignities he is going to foist on us today?  Immigration?  Taxation?  The re-trenching of the Deep State?  Erosion of personal liberty? All of the above?

Ben Shapiro asks a couple of pertinent questions, about how to define unity and peace.

Here in Louisiana , it looks like we are in for another rainy day.  Thankfully, my work today wil be indoors.

Was the Election Stolen?

The Democrats really don't want this drum beaten, so I'll keep whacking it.  And, I see that John Hinderaker, at Powerline, is beating it as well.

Democrats are making extraordinary efforts to suppress all discussion of whether Joe Biden actually won the 2020 presidential election. In fact, they go even farther: they want to suppress all discussion of the extent to which voter fraud occurred. That naturally makes me want to write about voter fraud, and who really won the election.

There is no doubt tat there was fraud.   That is plainly in evidence, and whether or not there was enough fraud to steal the election is a matter of question.

Even greater doubts about the election arise from the deliberately loose procedures that governed voting. Something like 69 million mail-in votes were cast, and until two months ago, everyone agreed that mail-in voting is highly susceptible to fraud. But the laxity in 2020 went far beyond the risks inherent in mail-in votes. I put it this way: I don’t know whether the Democrats stole the 2020 election, but I do know that they tried hard to steal it.

Go read the whole thing.

I do know that in the case o Louisiana, we routinely try to catch and prosecute those who attempt voter fraud.  We recently identified and arrested one such scoundrel.  But, the Democrats don't even want to talk about election integrity.  You have to ask yourself why.

The Hunter Denouement

Do you remember several months ago, before the election, when we were told that the rumors about Hunter Biden's criminality were bizarre fabrications of the Trump campaign to throw shade on Creepy Joe?  When the major news weenies refused to give the story any traction?

Rush Limbaugh is talking about it right now.  It seems that several news agencies are now covering revelations that Hunter Biden is now under investigation for tax issues relating to his foreign business dealings.

CNN is on itThe BBC is on itUSA Today is on it.

Why, all of a sudden, are the various news agencies on the Hunter Biden story?  What nefarious plot is afoot?  These are the same stories they denied and decried just months ago.  Why now?

I've said before that when you think you know what is happening, you'd better pay attention.  Rush is saying that if Biden is inaugurated, he won't serve for a full year, before he is pushed out n favor of Commie Harris.

We thought that the Trump Collusion brouhaha was an attempted coup.  We may be seeing a successful coup play out before our eyes.

Amistad Project on 'Election Whistleblowers Come For...

Yet more evidence of vote fraud during the 2020 presidential election.  If the DOJ can't find evidence, they really should check You Tube and Facebook.

Colion Noit Takes Down Congressman Cedric Richmon

Colion takes down our token Democrat in the Louisiana Congressional delegation. Cedric Richmond.

Richmond represents New Orleans, a city known for local corruption, bad governance and other disasters.  Currently, New Orleans is known for being a massive, festering infection pit of Covid.  In this interview, Richnond demonstrates that he is woefully ignorant of 2A issues, woefully ignorant of basic gun safety, and woefuly ignorant of the current law on gun topics.  Of course, he represents New Orleans.

Defund Who?

While I wasn't paying attention this past week, it seems that the Left has lost it's mind.  There seems to be a call across some of the US to defund police departments.  The Minneapolis City council is planning to vote to disband its police department.

What the hell?

Police power is the power to arrest, detain and limit freedom for the public good.  Many times the police don't use that power, but work for the public good.  I spent a career as a police officer, serving all of my citizens without passion or prejudice.  I believe that every police department has problems, but that those problems can be fixed with good leadership.  If a police department has systemic problems, then a change of leadership is beneficial.

But, police power is power, and power will be replaced in a vacuum.  So, if we remove our police department, what will replace it?  And, I'm not hearing anything about who will control the power once the police department is disbanded.  What is the end game?

Power must be controlled, or anarchy results.  In a power vacuum, something will rise to replace it.

Thank God that we have a Second Amendment.

New Orleans Covid Update

It seems that the city of New Orleans, the ground-zero of most of our troubles, both covid related and in large part, societal, will remain in Phase 1 of the recovery for several more weeks.
Cantrell however then said that she is not prepared to move into the next phase of reopening the city's economy.
Did I mention that the New Orleans mayor, LaToya Cantrell is a Democrat?
"We are only, again, in week two of Phase One.  We have yet to see the impacts of our busy weekend of Memorial Day that just passed where we saw large gatherings throughout the city, but mostly in surrounding areas and surrounding states that abut us. So we are going to be looking, of course, at that data."
She doesn't have to worry about me coming to New Orleans anytime soon.   Next, she will probably be crying that she's lost a lot of tourist dollars and needs assistance from the state or fed so that New Orleans can stay afloat.

Good Questions

Several weeks ago, the president's press secretary told reporters that they should be asking questions about LTG Michael Flynn to the Obama organization.

Today, another reporter asked if President Trump might pardon Obama for what seems to be crimes that occurred during the unmasking of General Flynn.

Her answer was a slam-dunk.

Wow!  She is like a high-school teacher giving an unruly class homework over a long weekend.  You can bet that if any of those un-curious reporters dare to ask a follow-up next week, there will be a pop quiz.

I'm a fan of Kayleigh Mcenany.  She's doing a great job.

There Is Bound to Be a Law

Against one administration trying to sabotage the incoming administration.

Obama was in it all along.   PJMedia reports:
On January 5, 2017, a meeting was held in the Obama White House in the Oval Office. Both President Obama and Vice President Biden attended. This meeting, it turns out, was critical to the anti-Trump operation by the Obama administration, reports Mollie Hemingway at The Federalist. “It was at this meeting that Obama gave guidance to key officials who would be tasked with protecting his administration’s utilization of secretly funded Clinton campaign research, which alleged Trump was involved in a treasonous plot to collude with Russia, from being discovered or stopped by the incoming administration,” she wrote.
This meeting happened just 15 days before Trump was inaugurated on Jane 20th.
Also in attendance at this meeting was then-CIA Director John Brennan, then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, then-national security adviser Susan Rice, then-FBI Director James Comey, then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, and other members of the national security council.
Go read the whole thing at the link above.  This puts Obama squarely in the middle of the Russia investigation scandal.

Pay Attention to Liberty

President Trump, we have to give him credit.  He said early in the week that he has sole authority to reopen the economy.  Everyone recoiled, governors and constitutionalists alike. The next day he had come to the conclusion that the governors should be the final arbiters of things in their hoe states.

He made everybody roar, then backed down to the proper conclusion.  Now, the governors own reopening their states.  It's pretty smart.  Now, they ow it.

Different states will take different approaches, and it will be interesting to see  how it comes about.  Texas opts for liberty, which is exactly the correct approach, while other states are opting for something less.  It is too early to know when Texas will remove the border checkpoints from Louisiana.  We'll see.

Our governor will continue to maintain his Stay-at-Home order until it expires on April 30th, and we are still a hotspot here in Louisiana.  We have started to end the curve, but I agree we ain't quite there yet.  There are some hopeful signs, but our governor is behind the power curve.  He says that he is establishing a commission to study the process of reopening.  I say he should have already done that, but h is a Democrat, after all.  True liberty is not in his nature.  He will drag this out as long as possible, trying to suck up federal dollars.  That's what he does.  Eventually, Louisiana will get a gut-full of his dallying and drag him across the finish line, and he'll claim victory, true to his nature.  I truly despise that man.

For myself, I opt for liberty every time.  We had cancelled our gun club shoots during April because it seemed prudent.  Now, we've learned enough about this virus to practice safe practices, so we'll resume our shooting schedule in May.  It will look a litle different than it did in February, but we'll be shooting.

Article 2, Section 2

Article 2, Section 2 spells out the duties o the President, and in part, includes:
he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.
There has been some comment about the President tweeting about a case involving his friend.  This is all politics.  We know that Obama protected his friends and allies from scrutiny, intervening when necessary, and the Democrats never said a word.

Just for the record, here is a little graphic to remind you how Obama put his thumb on the scales of justice.  And that's okay, because Article 2, Section 2 gave him that power.

It's the double standard that bothers me more than anything.

Selective OUtrage

It seems that the liberal media is now outraged that ... I dunno, something about President Trump tweeting, and AG Bar making a recommendation, and one career prosecutor resigning.  It seem seems that the Roger Stone case is the basis of all this faux outrage.  Evidently, Roger Stone is a fried of President Trump and was caught up in the RUSSIA investigation, and is facing sentencing over lying to Congress and obstruction.

Yeah, you can watch this report from See BS.

Those talking heads don't seem to recall when Obama's AG, Eric Holder famously bragged that he was Obama's wingman.  Or, when the DOJ declined to look into the IRS targeting conservative groups and Lois Lerner very publicly took the 5th in front of Congress, or when then-AG Lynch declined to prosecute Hillary Clinton for mis-handling classified documents.

Under Obama, the DOJ, FBI, and IRS was weaponized against conservatives.    It was outrageous then, but i didn't hear many of the lib media complaining about it.  Now, it's outrageous that they find it outrageous.

Buyback

The Mayor of Alexandria, LA, Mayor Jeff Hall is announcing a gun buy-back to be conducted in February.

This idea is horrible on so many levels, and has failed everywhere else it has been tried, so it doesn't surprise me that the City of Alexandria wants to try it.  Of course, Mayor Hall is a democrat, so we really can't expect things like fully staffing the police department, or making life tough for criminals.  Just buy their guns, no questions asked.
