An interesting bit of Louisiana history. When an oil rig penetrated the Diamond Crystal salt mine on Lake Peigneur. I didn't see it, but I watched it on the 6:00 news.
Dang. I never heard of that. And I was just over at Keesler AFB in Mississippi at the time. But I was right at the end of tech school and studying, not following news.

Yep, my cousin told me about the lake 'sinking'... I thought he'd been into the 'shine again...
