The Dardick was an interesting little gun that used something called trounds, which were triangular ammunition. It was a space-age invention of the '60s. Here's an NRA video about it.

We were promised a lot of neat things in the '60s that never seemed to make it to market. The Dardick and the Gyrojet were two that did make it to market.
I'm still waiting for my flying car. The 21st century is pretty much a disappointment.

At the same NRA Annual meeting where I got to see the Dardick and Gyrojet handguns, the Army had a demonstration of two flying machines which might have become personal flyers. One was the "Flying Platform", a one-man ducted fan machine, very tricky to fly, directional control ONLY by the soldier tilting the machine while it was airborne. The other one was another ducted-fan machine, might have been called the "Flying Jeep", I don't remember, had two fans, was much more stable, could carry two soldiers at least. Time frame on this was about 1960, maybe 1959, in Washington DC.
And don't forget Daisy's caseless VL .22 ammo and rifle.
I've seen the occasional Gyrojet in a museum, but I have never seen a Dardick.
