Progressive

I'm having trouble getting my head around this statement:
But as a progressive, I would sooner lay my child to rest than succumb to the belief that the use of a gun for self-defense is somehow not in itself a gun crime.
I'd lay down my life for my kids, grandkids, the kids at school that I'm sworn to protect. I truly don't understand the mindset of the guy who'd rather lay his child to rest than to defend that life.

It's as alien to me as anything I've ever considered.

I've got two grandkids here today. I'm going to go hug both of them, then do something productive.

Hat tip to SayUncle.

PawPaw, that guy is not a man, he's some sort of hollow shell with no soul.

Beware of men with no souls, they are child predators, among other traits.

PawPaw,

You aren't the only one.

It is a philosophy so alien, so contemptible that I have little frame of reference to it.

There are few things in this life worth defending more then our children.

Any "progressives" or "liberals" that have this mindset, please explain it to me.

Sorry to say that as a progressive, I can't give you a bit of help explaining that statement.

Dumbest thing I've read in a while.

..... I have to note his other statement about exodus vs. lockdown too: its not fair that some kids would be more resourceful in getting away - "Schools should level playing fields, not intrinsically reward those more resourceful. A level barrel is fair to all fish."

So this... thing... would rather expose ALL the kids under his authority to an increased possibility of getting killed by a nutcase than leave a chance that some might get away clean because they're 'more resourceful'. Its not just his OWN kid he's willing to sacrifice on the altar of his "ideals"... its any or all of the kids in his class or school.

Just sick.

His is not an unusual mindset. If you don't think so, just look for a minute at the "Weapons Free Zone" stickers on or near the doors of schools nationwide.

Ah, Sir! I think that letter has been proven to have been written by a pro-gun, pro-rights person who was trolling the minds of the pwogs. And they swallowed it, hook, line, and sinker.
