A Box of Cheerios

So there's this guy, Howard Schultz.  He's running for President as an independent and he is also a billionaire, former CEO of Starbucks.

Someone asked him how much a box of Cheerios cost, and he didn't know.

Is this what MSNBC has devolved to?  I was at the grocers yesterday, picking up stuff on the list, and I couldn't tell you how much any of it cost.  How much does a box of Cheerios cost?  It's a bullshit question that depends on where you buy it.  I'm sure that the box costs more at an upscale grocer than at the Family Dollar store. It may well cost more in New York than it does in Pineville, USA.

MSNBC has made itself irrelevant.  They're a bullshit network with braindead anchors.

But, the idea of an independent Presidential run in interesting.  I remember H. Ross Perot in 1992.  He split the conservative vote with George HW Bush and made Bill Clinton the President.  If it were not for Perot, William Jefferson Clinton would simply be a minor footnote in American political history.

So, the question becomes: Who is Schultz going to siphon votes from?  The election is a long way off, so we'll keep a weather eye on this question.

That's a good question. So far, Democrats seem to assume he'll siphon votes from Democrats; I tend to agree with them - I don't see many Republicans voting for him, but I don't feel qualified to make a good judgement, especially this early in the cycle.
