Single-Payer Ain't Happening

All those Democrats who ran on the promise to socialize health care (Medicare For All) have a huge problem, not because it is unworkable (which it is), or too expensive (which it is), or because Republicans oppose it (which we do).    The larger, more politically important problem is that Nancy Pelosi doesn't want it.
Pelosi adviser Wendell Primus detailed five objections to Medicare for All and said that Democrats would be allies to the insurance industry in the fight against single-payer health care. Primus pitched the insurers on supporting Democrats on efforts to shrink drug prices, specifically by backing a number of measures that the pharmaceutical lobby is opposing…
If the linked article is correct, then Medicare For All is a non-starter.  The Democrats don't want it and the Republiicans don't want it, and it's simply another pie-in-the-sky talking point to help young socialists get elected.
