GOProud

For those of us who don't pay attention to these things, there is an organization of gay folks in the Republican Party. They call themselves GOProud. As it turns out, I have gay friends, but not much Gay-dar. The conversation normally goes something like this.

Me: "I really enjoyed seeing Bill today. He's a nice guy. I'm glad we were able to see him."

Milady: "Yeah, he's a great guy."

Me: "I wonder why I never see him with a woman? Seems like he'd make a great catch for somebody."

Milady: "He's gay, you idiot."

Me: "oh."

And, as these things turn, it seems some groups boycotted the the Conservative Political Action Conference last week because GOProud attended. Which is just stupid. We've got bigger things to worry about than whether or not someone happens to be gay.

+1000 there, D.

Like getting this monster US debt and deficit under control before it swamps us and causes a real depression.
The Keynesians and socialists are gonna break us financially with their stupidity, if we don't stop them. Any fiscally conservative gays are welcome to join the fight, IMHO.

I also agree 10,000 percent on that. But would add that even if we didn't have these bigger problems, it'd STILL be pretty silly to worry about what consenting people do in the bedroom.

Some observations:

As activists, the gays can be powerful allies, simply because they've got something to prove and will work harder.

OTOH, they are a liability because of our Christian allies, who don't want them included for fear that they will spread an "anti-religion".

The common problem we all face is the spread of mind control via political correctness, and all of us should be fighting THAT, but to fight it effectively, somehow you have to deal with the issue of gay acceptance, which is loaded with PeeCee.

Lots of issues, and I've never seen them all addressed at once.
