A short lived artifact from the early 1960s. The Gyrojet was an attempt to make a small, handheld rocket launcher.
I remember seeing these things for sale in magazines.

Do you remember the Dardick 'Trounds'? Triangular projectiles fired thru a triangular barrel which had a twist to give the effect of rifling. Never caught on as I recall. GW
I went to the NRA Annual Meetings when Dardic first brought out that pistol. The projectiles were standard 38 LRN, but the cases were some sort of nylon.
Also carried GyroJet personal locator flares in 'Nam. They were effective against the enemy. Less noise than a handgun round, but they would achieve 1100 fps after a short distance, and would penetrate the body cavity while still burning.
