Melancon announces

Representative Charlie Melancon (D-LA) announced today that he'll challenge Senator David Vitter in 2010 for US Senator, according to The Dead Pelican.

Lovely. I'm no Vitter fan and I'm not a Melancon fan either. I'll have to vote in this race with one hand holding my nose.

Here's an idea for you, PawPaw. We know dead men vote in the sportsman's paradise, so why not have one of them actually run for office? Would already have a track record to review and they certainly wouldn't object to running, so that should open up the doors pretty wide.

The rumor that retired Gen Honore will run as an independent was outed on WDSU last night. I may have to give serious thought to him. Remember "Stuck on Stupid"?

As far as Melancon goes, he claims to be a Blue Dog but he must be a Scared Puppy because he didin't hold ANY town hall meetings. He got hammered lst time for voting for the spending bill. And although he voted against Obamacare in committee, I don't trust him to hang tough.

If Russ Honore runs, that will throw a whole new kink into the mix.

I don't know anything about the General's politics, but I know him to be a stalwart soldier. I might consider him as someone I could pull a lever for.
