Washington Said It First

History may not repeat itself, but it certainly rhymes. On this day in history,  I am reminded that President George Washington gave the very first state of the union address.  One of the points he wished to make.
Various considerations also render it expedient, that the terms on which foreigners may be admitted to the rights of Citizens, should be speedily ascertained by a uniform rule of naturalization. ...
Interesting that tonight President Trump is addressing the nation on immigration, and we're still talking about it as a nation.
