Tooled Leather

My son sends me a picture of tooled leather.  You may not know that the tooling must be done on a holster before it is formed.    He's making a one-piece Mexican Loop holster and the pattern is interesting.

That's nice work, and I'm interested to see it when it's done. That looks like very nice work.

I'm rw. I got an earlier holster of his. He has talent and not shy on the skills.

RW- thanks for the kind words. Making that holster for your Bisley was a fun project.

PawPaw- just counted the tool marks. There are 1,399 individual toolings in that rig. It just about wore me out. I need to get to furnishing the edges and cutting the holes, but I just haven't been interested in picking it back up yet!

Burnishing, not furnishing

Kinda like other forms of art, I'm not an expert but I know what I like. That's beautiful work!
