Conclave

Today begins the Conclave of Cardinals, a secretive assembly charged with selecting a new Pope.  I was listening to Megan Kelly's show this morning and she was reporting that the Vatican is using high-tech to try and insure secrecy, to include cell phone jamming and anti-drone technology.  They are also going old school, threatening excommunication to anyone who breaches the secrecy of the Conclave.  This is the way the church chooses a Pope, and we are reduced to watching a chimney.  Black smoke or white smoke That is about as old school as it gets and I think it is grand.

I also hear that Trump's Secretary of Education has sent Harvard a letter, telling them to not bother applying for federal grants.  None will be forthcoming. They are free to be a private school and use their endowment money to promote anti-Semitism.  Or something.

I am one of the bad types of people, A Christian who thinks that the Catholic church is not actually a real Christian organization, based on the faulty doctrine that they espouse. You can call me a heretic or a horrible person, or maybe a sinner destined for he'll because of my lack of kindness or tolerance for another "religious" group. I am not concerned with what others think of me. I am concerned with being in accordance with what the Bible says and trying to live with it's truth.
I won't get into all of the reasons for my disagreement with the doctrinal issues with the Catholic, save one.
It seems that if the Catholics truly believe that their Pope is a representative of God on earth, then resorting to a vote taken by mere men, no matter what earthly office they hold, is a pretty mundane way of choosing who is in essence the same thing as Jesus was, God on earth.
I mean shouldn't there be a sign of some sort, like a dove from heaven landing on his shoulder, or maybe a lightening bolt from a clear blue sky striking the right man, with no harmful effects or even a glowing countenance on his face?
I am not saying that all Catholics are bad people or that there are not faithful people who have been saved by the blood of Christ who consider themselves Catholics. We are all saved by nothing other than the blood of Jesus Christ. I am just saying that I don't think that the Catholic church has any special sort of position with God, based on the peculiar doctrine that they have continually changed over their existence.
If I caused hurt feelings, it was not my intention. I just wanted to explain my own beliefs on the Catholic religion, based upon my own study of the Bible.
May all be blessed and draw ever closer to the God of the universe.
