In 2007 we lost my Dad, and shortly thereafter, Momma bought a string trimmer. A battery operated string trimmer. She didn't know a lot about power tools, but she knew that Dad always bought Craftsman tools, so she bought a Craftsman. The kit came with a charger and two batteries, and she would move around the place, running that trimmer until the battery died, then she would take a break, change batteries, and get after it again until the second battery died. Then, se was done for the day.
Last year, I bought a string trimmer. A DeWalt. Like this one. I have DeWalt tools, and I couldn't see changing batteries, so I stayed with what I had. Nowadays I'm just about as old as Momma was back then, and suddenly her work protocol makes sense. I get done what I can do with two small batteries. The rest of it will wait till tomorrow, or the next day.
Getting old ain't for sissies.

My Dad once told me, the only thing golden about the "Golden Years" is your PISS! And that's if you're lucky!
That is how my Greenworx Pole Saw works for me. Fully charged, about 45 minutes of cutting time. After it begins to fade, I have to haul off what was cut to the pile and by that time, I figure time to stop. When I press on, the next day I discover muscles I didn't know I had and they are yelling at me "You Aren't As Young As You Used To Be !"
I have a 2nd battery fully charged in case I can't stop and have to push on through, but really - outside work is NEVER done. Not really. YMMV.
I went to the batt trimmer so I didn't have to deal with the 2 stroke gas. Ryobi 18v like the rest of the tools, the small take a break battery is a bonus! :-)
I bought the wife the Ego 56volt string trimmer. She liked it so well, I bought her the matching leaf blower.
The cool thing about the Ego trimmer is it's auto-load feature; makes reloading the head quite easy.
Went to battery for almost everything. Unfortunately, before I could help myself I was buying best rated each time. Well, nobody has all best rated tools, so I ended up with quite a collection of different chargers.
And your timing is excellent. Came in from trimming today, after 4 days basically in bed, and it was the usual test. Do I give out before the battery or vice versa. I have found that buying high power batteries is a self-defeating thing to do in that regard.

I run him at 75% speed.
Agreed! Sigh...
Out here in the Stinking Desert trimmer string dries out, and becomes brittle. I just take the little spool out of the trimmer, and put in in an old coffee can with water in it for a while to restore it's flex. YMMV.
