Well... Just Wow!

The decapitated corpse that was found on a judge’s doorstep in Aurora, Illinois has been identified as belonging to a notorious pedophile who was recently allowed to walk free on bail by the judge, according to reports.

Sounds like someone is sending several messages.

Hat tip; Say Uncle.

SOoooooo .... the police came, walked around the block, said "No clues here", shrugged their shoulders and went out for coffee and donuts.

Actually, probably not. But that might be a Cinderella ending to the story.

Other than that, it couldn't get much better.

A satire site? (I saw that claimed in a comment on Say Uncle).

The problem is that it's hard to tell. If it's satire, given current judicial behavior, I can easily see this happening. And the majority of people applauding the people responsible.

When people feel that law is being selectively enforced, they feel betrayed, and justified in ignoring it in favor of private vengeance. Even more so when they feel the law is being perverted to subvert justice.

This last point applies, even more so, to current politics. 30+ years ago, Tip O'Neil and President Reagan could enjoy a drink in each other's company, despite their political differences. And the whole nation was shocked at the assassination attempt on President Reagan. These days, I get the strong feeling that a similar attempt on President Bush would get enthusiastic support from much of the left - while the rest of us would have a hard time feeling sorrow reading the obituary of, say, Diane Feinstein, Maxine Waters, or RGB.

As recently as 2008, there was some talk of Senator McCain reaching across the aisle for his running mate (I'm not saying it would have been a good idea - but it was believable). I can't see any realistic candidate, of either party, considering such a move today.
