Boot Hooks

Couple of years ago, I realized that I was having trouble putting on  boots.  I don't wear lace-up, preferring the slip on Western boots.  It a boot had a soft upper, it was especially challenging.  The last time I was in Shepler's, I picked up a set of book hooks and put them in the van.

I took them out of the van this morning and used them to put o a pair of boots.  What?  I should have bought these years ago.  If you're like me, old and decrepit and not nearly as limb4r as you used to be, a set of boot hooks my be just the ticket.  If you don't have a Shepler's or a cowboy store nearby, Amazon will send you a set.

You are welcome.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I've never been comfortable in that style of boots for more than short periods of walking.

I used to have steel toed "engineer boots" sort of like cowboy boots that I wore when riding my motorcycle. When just walking around in them, the tops would flop around and irritate my calves after a while. If we stopped and were going to do any walking, I'd take them off and put on sneakers.

I have a pair of those rubber "wellington" muck boots that I wear out on the homestead when it's rainy and muddy, but I tuck my pants legs into them so that keeps them from flopping around. I guess I could do that with cowboy boots, but that doesn't seem very stylish.

Mostly when I wear boots I wear combat style boots. I got rid of the engineer boots years ago and I now wear Navy flight deck boots while riding...those are sort of like combat boots, but thick leather and steel toed.

Anyway, I'm not criticizing your choice in footwear...to each his own...I've just never gotten how people can wear that style of boots all day long. Maybe I've just been doing it wrong.

I'm with you, I am not comfortable walking much in pull on boots. I need lace up ones.
I'm used to steel toes - I wear them most of the time.
