Budget deal - Gaah!

I see that Boehner caved, although he's getting props from some folks. Those folks are idiots. One of the sticking points was continued funding for Planned Parenthood, who we support as a nation to the tune of $80 million.
Money wasn't the only sticking point in getting a budget approved. Social issues were lurking, and Planned Parenthood found itself caught in the middle. The agency receives $80 million annually..
Why are we spending money on Planned Parenthood when we're running deficits that some predict will reach $1.5 trillion this year? It's idiocy to spend more than you make, whether on the household level or the national level. Pure idiocy.
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) had spent hours meeting with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office, inching toward a deal to avert a shutdown, but he kept insisting that it include a prohibition against federal funding for Planned Parenthood. That was a non-starter for Obama. As the meeting was breaking up, Vice President Joe Biden told the speaker, in no uncertain terms, that his demand was unacceptable.
We know that our President is a community organizer and that social progress is one of his huge constituencies. We know that Biden is an idiot and that at some point we're going to have to ignore him. How he got to be anything more than a jail trusty is an indictment on the people of Delaware.

I expected Boehner to be the adult leadership in the room. With a deficit like we've got, we can't continue to fund frivolous activities like Planned Parenthood, NPR, General Motors or any of the other crap that isn't vital to the government. Boehner failed. He failed miserably.

Maybe it's time to trot out this old graphic, which I'll try to update in the coming days.

So, we've got a budget deal for 2011. Hooray. Now it's time to get started on the 2012 budget. Maybe Boehner can get it right this time. We can't afford to fund frivolity when the budget is awash in red ink.

Yeah, what he said!!! Hm, I thought none of my money was going to support abortions? Why is the government of the USA funding a non-profit organization like Planned Parenthood?
When did they become a government agency?
If I get a job at Planned Parenthood....would I be considered a government employee?

This is a topic that has always intrigued me....the slow segue of non profits that start out with altruistic ideals slooshing into governement hind tit suckers.

I can see funding cancer research or yellow fever research but planned parenthood? I mean isn't the underlying tone of planned parenthood all about NOT having kids or having kids when you want to have them. I thought it was all about "planning and making your own g**damn choice when it is appropriate to have kids".

But then the opposite side of that coin is...when you do have that "unplanned" kid then Planned Parenthood will help you to abort it.

So if a fat white middle aged laborer can understand that...why can't the taxpayers see it also? And if they can see this truth...why don't they scream bloody hell and refuse to fund this tripe?

My gawd, I always thought the "silent majority" was just too disenfranchised to get their ideals across to the congresscritters......now I'm beginning to think the "silent majority" is clueless and gutless!

I thought right wingers didn't like giving welfare to individuals. Planned Parenthood has prevented untold numbers of welfare babies.

Ahh, but everyone who reads this post will think that I'm pro-life. I am, but not in the defined sense. I'm also pro-choice. I think a woman should be able to decide her reproductive agenda. My feelings on the subject are both simple and complicated. I am a man of distinction, and I can distinguish between what government should pay for and what they should not.

You're right, Junior, I don't believe in giving my money to individuals who don't deserve it. I also don't believe in telling a woman what she should do with her body. It's her business and not mine. It becomes my business when she decides to become a burden on me.

I think aborting a fetus for any reason other than rape, forced incest(rape by another name), or to save the mother's life is deplorable, and I don't want my tax dollars supporting it.
However, I will willingly pony up some tax dollars for free birth control, if the idiots will use it. I'm sick and tired of supporting the offspring of our welfare class. Our social "safety net" has become a hammock for far too many.
