Whine On, Bitch

 AoC opens her pie-hole.

AOC: I think young people overall feel a tremendous amount of betrayal about the world that we’ve been left with.

Oh, please.  If she had any sense of historical perspective, she would know that the current generation has it better than any human since Lucy walked the Gret Rift Valley.   AOC lives in the greatest county the world hs ever produced, during  the easiest time that humanity has ever enjoyed.

This generation has it better than I did.  I had it better than my Dad's generation and he had it better than my grandfathers generation.  I don't now what AOC is whining about.

I got into an argument with someone on Substack about this just the other day. Basically she said we old people are "hoarding" wealth because we've prepared for retirement and somehow that's preventing the younger generation from succeeding.

I think the problem is they never saw their parents struggle when they were young. Their sense of history starts when they were about 12 when their parents were established and they were living in a McMansion in the suburbs.

They expect to be able to graduate college with their completely unmarketable degree in something that ends with "studies", immediately buy a nice house and a new car and have their life be essentially the same as it was when it was being financed by their parents. They don't think they should have to go through that stage where they live in a small apartment and eat ramen every day for dinner. Or rather, have no sense that such a stage even exists.

Plus, they've been steeped in socialism through their entire left-wing education so their "understanding" of economics is a zero sum game. For you to have something, you must have taken it away from them. They don't understand the whole concept of "wealth creation" and how it is that this generation has orders of magnitude more wealth available to them than a couple of generations ago.

It's sad for the future because the current generation of young people are convinced that the only way they can have more is by taking it away from others...and those "others" are just greedy a-holes if they balk at the idea. When they are our age and we are dead, that doesn't bode well for the economic future of the nation.
