Whut??

In April of 2020, I bought a new car.  For myself.  Probably the first new car I had purchased since 1975. In my world, the lady drove the nice car, the man drove a clunker, probably a pickup truck.  My current ride is a 2020 Honda Odyssey.  It's been a good ride, and it's carried Belle and I to lots of cowboy shoots.  It hauls a lot of gear and I've been happy with it. It is still under warranty.

Today, I started getting some weird codes. Error messages on the dash.

Weird stuff like that.  Odd.  It all happened at once, and I'm getting about five error codes. Confusing.  I"m going to get up at 0-dark-thirty and have it sitting in front of the Honda dealer tomorrow morning when they open the doors.  I don't know what the issue is, but Honda will figure it out.

I'm going to bet it's one of two things.
-A bad ground (which is almost impossible to find.
-They need to reboot the computer by disconnecting the + cable on the battery.

I've fixed a lot of problems with the last, but it's under warrantee, so let them look.

Check and see if a rat has chewed wires.

Wife's car (Ford Escape) had the anti-lock braking system flag. Popped the hood to look, and found a rat nest. Damn rat had chewed the wheel lock sensing wire in half. Repaired wire and problem cleared.

I'm with KurtP above. When my GMC 2000 pick-up lights up, the 1st thing I do is disconnect the battery for at least a minute and then re-connect to see if the code flips up again. That has saved me a couple of expensive repairs.

A long time ago, a 'knock sensor' light code came up. The part is inexpensive, but deep enough in engine guts to have cost at least $500 in labor alone. Reboot - code never flashed again. The cost is just a little bit of time.

If it's rats, Honda sells a pepper tape infused with capsaicin. It works. My wife's car had chewed wires & a rat's nest. Rewrapped wires with pepper tape, wiring problem gone.
