Sources are reporting that Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot has lost her reelection bid. She came in third in a field of eight. Lightfoot is the first mayor to lose a reelection bid in over 40 years.
Not that I care much. I don't believe that the internal politics of Chicago affect me on iota. Still, Chicago is a big place, filled with Democrats, and the first openly gay black woman mayor has been crushed by out-of-control crime. The voters will only take so much, and Lightfoot delivered the excesses they could not stand.
