Another video on the new Ruger RXM, this one from Colion Noir. He seems underwhelmed with the pistol, which is refreshing. Everything does not have to be the latest and greatest. Sometimes a good thing is just a good thing, without having to make a statement.
It drives me crazy when a manufacturer changes a product just because they feel a desire to change. If it works, it works, and there is no reason to change it. I'm not one to tell someone else what they need, or don't need. Freedom is fun, but there are certain items that have always baffled me in the firearms industry. For example, the forward assist on the AR platform. I started with that platform in 1973 when my Uncle Sam handed me one. Never used the forward assist. Likewise, a flared magazine well on a 1911.
As an acolyte of Jeff Cooper, I long considered the 1911 the finest fighting pistol ever devised. Over the years my stance has softened, and I considered the Glock 19 on par with the 1911. But, Glock keeps improving teir pistols and we're into what... Gen 5 now?
Sometimes, Good enough is simply perfect.

I never warmed to the finger nubbins that Glock put on the 3rd and 4th generation guns.
Ruger, to me at least, seems to be looking to make a pistol that really catches on and they keep being lost in noise.
They're still making the American, but when was the last time you saw one? I don't think I've ever seen one at the range, and it's been a while since I saw one in the case.
Are they bad guns? Or did they just fail to capture the buyer's imagination?
The RXM looks like an imagination catcher. And that sells guns!
I watched it. Sounded pretty positive to me.
The G19 Gen 5 is indeed, the best 9mmx19 medium pistol available.
Ugly? Yes.
Best CCW? No.
Best all-around? Quite possibly.
It's the pistol we used for armorer training at the Slidell Police Academy building, when I filled a bucket list item: going to the Glock armorer's school.
The grip frame angle and trigger guard hook are my pet peeves about Glocks. This gun solves that. Is it a big deal...no. But it's something different.
This will give you giggles.
New Orleans, Abudobey Stop & Rob. Goes badly for "Didn' Do Nuffins", the Hagi lite their asses up.
Sometimes, I think the 'improved pistol' is issued to sell more of the same product with new 'icing'. Much better to have both products in hand at same time and decide do I REALLY need to buy this.

As another gen 3 Glock clone for folks who just want that it’s ok. A solid middle of the road value option. Now the ability to change grips without it being a new gun is handy. Kinda like the P320.
Also I suspect there will soon be PDW type chasis that take this FCU.
