While I Was Gone

So I understand that while I was gone to Georgia this weekend, a US Navy ship pumped a couple of 5-inchroundsintotheengineroom of an Iranian motor vessel who was trying to run the blockade.

I don't often say this, but Go Navy.

From what I understand, this particular vessel was a Bad Actor in the supply chain for Iran's WMD program.  Not that I care what this particular vessel, nor any Iranian-flagged vessel is carrying.  The US Navy is conducting a blockade. Any vessel trying to run it should be 1) warned, and 2) sunk.

It is time that Iran get themessage.

Well, I'm pretty sure the Iranians "got" the message. I'm also pretty sure that since it's not the Mullahs on the boats, that the they will continue to sent "martyrs" to try to get by. Now, if the "martyrs" are volunteers, "Fire at will, Gridley". If they were forced, and they surrendered, take then aboard and then sink their ship. I'm not Navy, so there might be a flaw in that plan and I'm certainly willing to accept a better, more realistic, option.

Personally, I think they showed restraint in NOT sinking it.

But it was probably the best move if possible because we have documents, cargo, etc either for intelligence value or to resell.
