2026 HurricaneSeason

Over the past several days, the usual contenders have issued their annual hurricane forecasts for the2026 season.  This year is supposed to be less active than normal with maybe nine (9) named storms and up to three (3) major storms.

We'll see.

The thing to remember about hurricanes is that it takes only one to completely screw up your weekend.

For those of you who take procrastination as seriously as I do, tax day is upon you.  This is the first year in many that I have not yet picked our my BAG day gun.  Perhaps because I already have my guns.  I have heard good things about Springfield Armory's clone of the Browning Hi Power.

Until the forecasters can tell me how many hurricanes will make landfall within oh, let's say 500 miles from a given spot I'll just wait until individual ones begin to develop.

I just used up all the generator gas in the cars a few weeks ago -- time to refill and test run the generators.

I started on my BAG day gun this year in January because I knew it would take a while to get done. I was right. I finally had it out to the the range last weekend.

The reason it took so long is because the ATF was involved.

I assembled a 6.8 spc rifle with a Bison Armory 10.5" barrel and added a Huxwrx Suppressor. I got a multicaliber suppressor that I can use on anything up to 9mm, but it's mostly going to live on the SBR.

Gives me a suppressed rifle that's about the same length as a standard 16" barrel carbine.

To be honest, with the hassle, and red tape and stupid regulations related to NFA items, I'm not sure it was worth the effort. But now that it's done, I'm going to enjoy it.
