Rest In Peace, Cowboy

I see that one of my favorite actors died today.  Robert Duvall, at age 95.

He was one of my favorite western actors.  Many know him for his role in The Godfather, and he did a great job there, but I liked him better in western movies. My absolute favorite is Broken Trail, a movie based on a true story.  Of course, many people remember his role as Gus McCrae in Lonesome Dove.

Rest in Peace, Robert.

A more recent one is Open Range with Kevin Costner. Just after the turn of the century. 2003? I really enjoyed that one. But Lonesome Dove is a classic and a favorite miniseries.

Yep, Open Range was a good one that I've seen more than once. For a long time I thought him to be just the bad guy, but he proved me wrong on that point. Have enjoyed his acting for a long time.

Secondhand Lions and The Apostle are great ones too.
