Lake Charles, in southwest Louisiana sits on the I-10 corridor and is home to refineries along the Sabine Pass, which is the border to Texas and Louisiana. They've caught hell for the past year, with two major hurricanes, the brunt of the ice storm, and flooding rains last week. Last Monday, Lake Charles got more rain than during the two major hurricanes from last year. Seriously, it has been bad.
Now, the National Hurricane Center is reporting that an early tropical disturbance may be gaining steam and heading gor that same patch of ground that has been so frequently hammered over the past year.
That little yellow X now has a 60% chance of becoming a tropical storm. And, it has Houston, Beaumont, Lake Charles square in its sights.
Pray for Lake Charles. Those folks need a break.
