Has it been eleven years since Federal announced the development of the .327 Federal Magnum? It doesn't seem like that long ago. There is a nice article here about the development of the cartridge.
I've never been much o a fan o the .312 bullet, but Belle is. She has always liked .32 revolvers and has a nice Colt D Frame in .32-20 as her car gun. Several months ago, she saw a video on the new Charter Arms Professional and decided on the spot that she wanted one, to retire her antique Colt in favor o something more modern.
We started looking around, and finally found one at Grabagun.com. They had them cataloged, but on back-order, so we checked the site often. Earlier this week, they became in-stock, so Belle clicked the button and got one heading this way. We got the call from the FFL yesterday and we'll pick it up this morning.
Belle is getting a new gat.

I'll admit, that's a hell of a cool little gun! Is it chambered in 327 federal? When they first came out, they were chambered in 32 H&R magnum.
No, son, it's in .32 H&R, I just happened to notice that today is the anniversary of the .327 Federal.
It appears to be chambered in 32 H&R Mag. 327 Federal is just a lengthened 32 H&R Mag case, loaded to higher pressure.
I wonder why Charter Arms didn't chamber the Professional foe 327 Fed, unless cylinder wall thickness(think pressure) or cylinder length was an issue.
Now Belle needs a Henry Big Boy lever carbine in .327 Fed to go with it.

I hope she enjoys it. I'm a fan of the .32 H&R myself. When a rimfire isn't enough for the job, but a .357 Magnum is too much - that is the .32 Magnum niche. My Target Bulldog (1st Gen. CA, 1980's) is a great kit gun so I see the successor more of the same. The only bug - factory ammo cost is crazy expensive !! Gotta be a hand loader or have a large bank.

I have a S & W 632 J frame in 327 federal and with the rubber grips It still kicks a might. With 32 magnums it is Comfortable to shoot. I probably need more practice and a grip change.
My sister in interested in one. My .44 Special Bulldog is going on 45+ years old and never once has it failed to fire. She is a .38 Special fan.
