TSA Equality

I notice that Senator Rand Paul had a problem yesterday trying to get on an airplane to attend a session of Congress. TSA defends itself, saying that they treated the Senator just like everyone else. Good for them. The government should treat Senators like everyone else.

My problem is that they treat everyone like that, a stunning over-reach of government authority and a huge pain in the wazoo to traveling Americans. I'm one that believes that the government has no business in the airline security business. Let the airlines take care of their own security and the travelers will reward the airline that does the best job.

Sen. Rand Paul was "impeded" on his way back to D.C. as the Senate was going to go into session.
The TSA violated the Constitution in so doing.
Of course the President and his administration violate the Constitution routinely as well...

I'm just about ready to guarantee my vote to the first candidate of ANY party who will promise to abolish the TSA on his/her first day in office, and if that can't be constitutionally done, have them report to work and sweep up airports. If THAT can't be done, have them sit in a room and watch soap operas until Congress can get around to banishing them.

So what if they have a Union? What are they going to do, strike?

Agreed, Pawpaw. I'm going to have to fly _again_ for work next month; after finding out my no-metal belt also now needs to come off (I bought it so I wouldn't have to, but apparently the new see-through radar toys don't like nylon belts) and then getting frisked and groped anyway because (I think) I questioned the need to remove the belt...

I really don't want to fly any more and won't when I have a choice. Not until this caca is ended.

As for Sen. Paul, unlike is nobody peons, a Senator getting mistreated like everyone else at least draw attention. Given his stands on many things, perhaps that was even his intention.
