We've got a fence around our back yard and the dog has free run. He likes to watch traffic along the road by laying on his belly and putting his chin on the ground.
He's in the center of the photo. Here's another, taken from much closer.
He's laying out there now.

Poor puppy, watching ALL those cars get away... :-)
We're in a townhouse, no fenced yard; our Golden had to make do with the patio door blinds raised a few inches; she would lay there for hours watching the birds and squirrels... cars weren't worth paying attention to.
