We are prepping for Christmas celebrations. The immediate family are gathering here tomorrow for our usual Christmas Eve event, and we'll spend Christmas Day with Belle's siblings.
The immediate news this morning seems to be that the Supremes will hear try to clean up the disarray on the Biden vax mandate. Arguments are scheduled for January 7th. This should be interesting.
Here in Louisiana, our petty tyrant has once again extended the public health emergency. I haven't read it, and don't intend to. Like many free Americans, I'm over the idea that Covid is an emergency. At this point, it's endemic, and something we are going to have to learn to live with. The idea that an emergency should last 21 months is ridiculous.
But, this is the Christmas season, a time for thanks-giving. My prayers this week will be for peace on earth, good will towards all.

Apparently, @Whatever is a good little obedient Commie, fearfully doing whatever it is told will keep them safe and is best for the common good. (I got the "for the common good" spiel from my own daughter). And as usual, rather than offer some kind of polite counterpoint, it has to resort to name calling.
Me on the other hand, have been doing THE EXACT OPPOSITE I have been ordered to by my own petty tyrant Gov. "Jolly" Ned Lamont. Like you Pawpaw, I have been done with the Chi-Com Xi Flu nonsense, for me since May of 2020. Mask mandate? HA! I'm not wearing one and believe me no one dares confront me (walking around wearing a very "stern" face) about it. Get a booster? Again... HA! I haven't gotten a single jab and proud of it. Working in EMS I should be a CDC case study in natural immunity, having had the Chi-Com Xi Flu (just a bad cold) in March 2020, fully recovering and being exposed to MANY COVID+ and suspected patients since then. March of 2020 was the last time I was sick, not even a case of the sniffles.

A legal "mandate" is sort of beside the point. If someone in the Biden Administration "suggests" some action, a corporation is free to refuse, and then spend eternity playing host to the IRS, OSHA, ATF (if they use grain ethanol in their product(s), or any other agency that regulates some aspect of corporate life. Then there is the future possibility of grants and contracts.
Some companies might go along because they are true believers in the Progressive message. Even if they are opposed, they have to consider the very real costs of regulatory compliance. "Prove" that their hiring approach is compliant with X, Y, Z. etc. There will always be a "price" for saying "no". The "Dear Collegue" letter to colleges and universities did not have the force of "law", but it had the force of regulatory compliance if they didn't. The regulatory cat's paw extends almost everywhere and it positions the hurdles that everyone has to jump over.
The Supreme Court can hand down decisions from now until the end of time, but the Swamp will make you pay.
