In 2007 I ordered a rifle scope from Optics Planet. It took about four weeks for trhe scope to hit my mailbox. I thought that was odd, but I wasn't that concerned about it.
I admit that I have been spoiled by Amazon. If you order something, it is dropped off three or four days later. Amazon has really revolutionized shopping in this country.
So, on November 28th I was looking for some optics and when to Optics Planet. They had what I wanted at a good price, and their Black Friday deals were happening. The website claimed that the item was in stock. I ordered my product and went on to other things. Today I checked and they don't expect to shop until December 18th.
In 2025 it takes 20 days to ship an item that is in stock? I don't know about that. It seems to me that Optics Planet needs to step up their game on shipping orders.

I wonder IF they actually carry ANY stock...
From several experiences with Optics Planet I don't think they mean THEY have it in stock.
I think they are saying it's in stock at our supplier or the manufacturer and they can readily get it.
So you, as the customer, have to wait for it to ship twice.
That's the best case.
Worst case is when it says, "in stock" at the item, but changes quietly to "backordered" while you're picking your shipping method.
That happened enough that I stopped even shopping there.
Ordered a memory module from Amazon on Saturday. In stock/available. Delivery estimate is January 23rd.
what I have found with them is, if they REALLY do have it. you get it inside of 10 days or less.
if not, might take a month or two. I do not order from them unless the price is really good on that item. most of the time I just hit Midway for most stuff.
I quit Optics Planet after my last order with them. I had purchased a number of items from them some years ago - delivery times weren't great, but they were acceptable. Then I recently bought something from them and had a similar experience as you did with their shipping - it took weeks to get the item. When I contacted them, they indicated that if I had selected the express delivery option (for about $18.00 extra) I could have received the item in a week or so. Yep - they have lost me forever.

Scope and fast reloading. This guy had some serious training.
Slight tangent: Ordered a Renogy "in stock" solar panel through Amazon. Two weeks go by. I query their automated customer service. It was delivered complete with a proof-of-delivery photo. To Florida. I was in Wisconsin. Never been to FL. Delivery date a year prior to my order. Repeated queries answered with "be patient". Total time to delivery: seven weeks. Box appeared well-traveled. At least I got it! Good thing it wasn't a "keep refrigerated" drug.
