Yet another shooting in my hometown of Alexandria, LA. Again in an area I'm familiar with. On the corner of Monroe and Louisiana. My college roommate's parents lived on Louisiana Ave when we were in high school. My grandmother lived several blocks away. A lot of the girls I dated during high school lived in that area. In the 79s, it was solid, white middle class. Retirees and military, just plain folks.
In the 80s and 89s it started to change. The shooting yesterday and the shooting today make me sad. That used to be such a nice, friendly area of town. Now, not so much.
