This might be a good time to remind everyone that approximately 233 people re-boarded that plane with assault rifles, pistols, and machine guns–but nothing that could have been used as a weapon. It seems that this was a military charter out of Bagram AFB and the GIs were returning to the US with rifles, pistols and machine guns. They landed in Indianapolis to let off some National Guard Troops and TSA decided that they couldn't have nail clippers, even with rifles hanging from their shoulders. The soldiers handled it with a lot more grace and dignity than the TSA handled it. Go to the link above and read the whole exchange.
TSA is off the rails and should be de-funded completely.

Ye Gods... that is ALL I can say without resorting to REALLY foul language...
REALLY? REALLY? I read that and my jaw dropped. Nail clippers on an AMERICAN SOLDIER. Wow.
Wonder if TSA folk are just totally lacking in common sense, are robots following a strict program, or are just plain stupid. Makes no difference in the end.
BUT, I'll bet those airports that choose to privatize security will hire existing agents to save training costs, so we'll not be much better off.
This is just damn funny......
Wow, What they said...
I heard a comment from a TSA spokesperson to the effect that even if an airport "opts out" of TSA screening they will still have to comply with TSA Standards. So things may not improve much.
"Inmates, asylum, etc. etc."
