Little Patrick

Little Patrick has a problem lately, slamming into things with his car. Takes after Daddy that way, I suppose.

We find in the Constitution that he is immune from prosecution when he is in DC.
Section 6. The Senators and Representatives shall receive a compensation for their services, to be ascertained by law, and paid out of the treasury of the United States. They shall in all cases, except treason, felony and breach of the peace, be privileged from arrest during their attendance at the session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any speech or debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other place.
Of course, as Daddy's son he is typically exempt from prosecution anyway. Daddy got away with manslaughter. Patrick considers it a birth-right.

Y'all want to impeach somebody? Patrick might be a good place to start. The Senate has never had the balls to impeach Teddy. So much more the shame. I'm becoming convinced that no one in either deliberative body has a moral compass worth following.

You know, they (congress) can vote to expel a member too. Of course, you then get into pot, kettle, black.

The protection from arrest only applies while going to or from a session or during a session of Congress. They don't have some sort of "diplomatic immunity", as they can be arrested any time outside of those time boundaries for a crime commited at any time within the statute of limitations, even those committed during the protected period.

Just ask Cynthia McKinney.

The crime of Recklessly Endangering the life of another would not be covered by the immunity statute, and by deliberately doctor shopping for different doctors to prescribe two major central nervous system depressants that no one doctor would EVER prescribe together, and then taking such drugs together, Kennedy formed the mental state of Reckless Behavior that would prove the case.

I say indict him.

This statute may also fall under the impeachable offense of a "high crime and misdemeanors" charge.

BTW, this old cop knows exactly why he suddenly ran off to rehab: he will stay there long enough for ALL drug traaces to wash out of his system. Most of us old harness bulls know that the usual reasons multiple CNS depressants are used by an addict is to counteract overdoses of stimulants.

My guess is that Kennedy is also a methamphetamine addict, and took the depressants to get off a meth high.

Meth, of course, is not politically correct, and his career wouldn't survive a meth charge, so before the DeeCee cops could change their mind and get a warrant for a blood draw, he jugged himself in rehab to hide until he could pass a drug screening test.
