Are y'all seeing this bullshit about this woman in Tennessee who was supposed to be executed last night? Something or someone botched the execution and she is in the hospital following the procedure.
I'm generally a proponent for the death penalty. We have to make sure that the penalty is quick and effective. Whatever happened last night in Tennessee was neither. The follow-up investigation will be fun to follow.
Considering how her victim was killed, should have just grabbed a claw hammer from the carpentry shop and given a couple of judicious whacks while she was unconscious from the shots.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering 'what' she was actually given...
ReplyDeleteAs I said in another venue: Vets successfully perform essentially this same procedure on a daily basis without any problems. The processes and procedures involved are well known and well established.
ReplyDeleteA failure like this (and the ones before it) can only happen if someone somewhere along the chain wanted them to happen. Tainted or weakened drugs or intentionally miscalculated dosages, something like that was involved.
I firmly believe that this was an engineered incident designed to provoke an emotional response in opposition to the death penalty in general.
"We have to make sure that the penalty is quick and effective."
Quick is relative. Personally, I'd prefer the focus to just be "effective". Hanging is pretty effective. So is a .38 to the back of the skull, but that one's pretty messy. How about 100lb rock tied to the ankles and dumped into the ocean. Effective, provides food for the aquatic wildlife and no worries about disposal of the body. Triple benefit.
I'm thinking, given her complaint about her arm hurting, that whoever was the needle jockey screwed up. My wife had a similar complaint at her last CT scan when the nurse missed her vein and they started the dye injection.
ReplyDeleteThey are deliberately not drinking water for days so their veins collapse.
ReplyDeleteA dozen prison guards with 30/30’s and 11 bullets at about 20 feet worked pretty good. So did rope.
