The more I watch politics, the more I don't understand it. How presumably sane people can vote against their own best interest simply astounds me. I see that the House f Representatives once again voted Nancy Pelosi to another term as Speaker. Amazing.
Of course, Joe Biden was elected president. (if you believe the polls, and I don't).
I was talking with a neighbor yesterday and he told me that he's mystified and disgusted with the political landscape. He is now to the point where he doesn't believe anything he hears on the television, or on the internet, and really doesn't know which news source is reliable. I understand his dilemma. I feel much the same way. If I believe what the drive-by media is telling me, then most of the American population is demonstrably insane. If I believe what the alt-news sources are telling me, then the votes are rigged, but no prosecutors or judges will tough it.
It's almost bad enough that I'm prepared to quit listening to all news sources, focus on my little world, and thy to insulate myself from outside influences. I feel like my political lens is so distorted that I cannot believe what I am seeing. These are incredible times.
I see that our Governor has scheduled a press conference for 2:30 today. I can't imagine what horror-show he's going to try and foist upon us today. And, I don't believe fr a minute that it is good news.
Fortunately, I have a project that needs my attention. So, it's time to put on socks and try to make some sense ou of this beautiful Mnday.
The older I get, the more I appreciate The Bellamy Brothers "Old Hippie" song;
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the two sequels to the original.
All the news is for today, is to drive up your blood pressure... sigh
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. I believe nothing I hear or see.
ReplyDeleteI simply measure whether it's worth researching and digging for the truth.
