"Follow the science", they said. :Wear a mask, stay at home, wash your hands", they said.
Back in March, it was all abut lockdown. And we did what they told us to do. We stayed at home, lost contact with friends and family, wrecked the economy so that we could slow (not stop) the spread, and keep from overwhelming the hospitals.
I ranted and raved about it, but I did it. Followed the science. Now, they're telling us that we might have to go through it all again. And, they're calling us names. Science deniers, They;re coming up with terms like Pandemic Fatigue. And they are right, I'm tired of it. I did everything they told me to do, and it isn't over yet. It didn't work. And they wonder why we question their expertise.
In my career, both in the military and law enforcement, we had deadlines. Things that had to be accomplished by a certain time. Yet, our public health experts have no such restrictions. They are free to limit our freedom, wreck our economy, and tell us that if don't follow the science, then we are the problem. And I'm tired of it.
Give us a date, and tell us that if we do what the science dictates, by that date this will be over. If you can't do that, on time, on schedule, then surrender your medical license, admit you were wrong, and find another profession. This is too serious or anything else.
Infectious disease experts have been wrong on every possible epidemic in the last 40 years, starting from their claim that AIDS would depopulate Africa by 1990, progressing through SARS, MERS, Ebola, etc.
ReplyDeleteThey said if we didn't commit economic suicide in the spring that there would be 2 to 4 million deaths in 6 months... we're at less than 1/4 of a million, and many of those are unlikely to be due to it...
In February, my family got ready because I believed the response to the virus would be worse that it itself was, and I was right. The lockdowns and restrictions were harsh enough to be painful but too loose to be effective... As if the real intent was to drag out the effects of the virus and thereby the arbitrary executive orders that governors and mayors used to control the people - and quite possibly control the election as well.
That ChinCOVID surge? Nope.
ReplyDeleteJohns Hopkins and Worldometer claim Georgia has 413,894 total cases; with 2,242 new cases on November 11, 2020.
The state reports only 377,69 total cases.
AND ONLY 4 -- FOUR -- NEW CASES on the 11th.
They are lying, by combining old, backlogged reports with non-specific antigen positives that Georgia does not call ChinCOVID cases without a positive PCR test.

I dislike their calling it "science".
ReplyDelete"Science" is a method of inquiry. The scientist works from a hypothesis, makes projections, runs experiments and compares results with the projection to invalidate or accept the hypothesis.
The 6' (2 meter) rule was pulled out of somebody's rearmost orifice. That is not science. It is the most commonly accepted 'compromise' but that does not make it science.
