Louisiana's 5th District

After the dust settled from the presidential election, we in Louisianan's 5th House district found that we had an utterly predictable conclusion.

Louisiana has jungle primary elections, where all candidates run in the same race, regardless of party, and the top two vote getters go into a runoff, if neither has garnered a majority.

In the map below, the LA 5th is listed as a runoff, and that's true.  We are in a runoff.

I know that the map can add one Republican seat to the House map, because in Louisiana's 5th, the runoff is between two Republicans. Luke Ludlow, and Lance Harris.  We're going to elect a Republican, that is a foregone conclusion.

Early voting is Nov. 20-28 from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. (excluding Sunday, Nov. 22, Thursday, Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving) and Friday, Nov. 27 (Acadian Day); early voting is advanced one day because of the holidays)

Election Day is Saturday, December 5th.
