I turned in my formal notice of retirement today at the Sheriff's Office.
The secret is out. I'm sure that the rumor mill will crank up shortly.
I'm not mad at anyone, I'm not upset. I'm simply 65 years old and in the words of John Holliday, it's time to seek my amusement elsewhere. It's been a good run, but it's over. My last day of work will be March 28.
Congratulations! You'll probably end up being even busier doing things than you already are.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, but don't plan on getting a break. I'm SURE Belle is preparing your updated honey-do list! :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and good luck.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Only another 20 years for me.
ReplyDeleteWhen my FiL "retired" the first time he went from having one squad car in his driveway to having three (part time officer/deputy in three different local departments). He ended up coming out of retirement to take the Chief's position in a little town 60 miles away before retiring again a couple of years ago. Good luck.
Well done, sir.
ReplyDeleteTurning 65 ain't no reason to retire. Because you want to may be a good reason, but no need for age discrimination.
ReplyDeleteHaving just stepped out the door for the last time just before Christmas, I can say the view from this side is much better than the view from that side.
ReplyDeleteI can also confirm OldNFO's comment that your wife will have plenty of things for you to do.
Best of luck to you, Sir, and congratulations.
