Intersectionality, whatever the hell that is. Evidently, it's a scale of how privileged you may or may not be. With "social justice" being what it is, I figured I'd do poorly. After all, I am a fairly well educated white male who supports himself and pays a butt-load of taxes.
The test did not disappoint. Evidently I am more privileged than 90% of all the other critters in this country.
Heh! You can take the test here if you'd like. Linky to the test. Do I feel poorly about having such a low score? No, not at all. We can't do anything about race or sex, but if you get educated, work hard, pay taxes and have good income your score will drop. It's all utter bullshit, anyway,
Privilege: a right, immunity, or benefit enjoyed only by a person beyond the advantages of most
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear an intelligent Progressive to list the "Rights" that are available to me that are not available to others.
I would love to hear what immunities I enjoy that are not available to others. Be specific, what crimes can I commit and get away with when others would be charged. Emphasis on "commit".
I would love to hear what benefits I enjoy that are beyond the advantages available to "most". I went to a community college and then a state university. I don't see where they discriminated based on any of the axis that define privilege. If anything they actively recruit "diversity".
The most credible case one can make is that many disadvantaged people use non-standard English. So did I. I fixed it, mostly, by using Micro Soft Grammar tools in Word. Those tools are available to anybody using a computer with MS Office Suite installed. But most people cannot be bothered to fix their own shortcomings.
Hm I got a 12 or 79%......what do I win?
