Back in the '70s I loaded a 1957 long-bed chevy pickup with a load about half that size. It was green wood from a mill.
The biggest problem I experienced was steering ... we kept shifting forward on the bench seats to put a little more weight on the front wheels!
Finally we grabbed three or four of the chunks out of the tailgate area and put them on the bench seat. Since it was a 50 mile freeway ride back home, we were glad to get there safely.
(Then came unloading, splitting, stacking the wood; enjoyed the fireplace that winter, though.)
Reminds me of the time I helped my dad pick up some paving bricks from Menards. We loaded his pickup down with so many that the mud flaps were dragging on the street. We stopped at my aunt's place and unloaded half of them to pick up the next week because he didn't want to drive from Bismarck to Minot with the full load.
