Just Because

If you've never heard Jerry Clower tell a story, you're i for a treat.

I grew up listening to Jerry Clower, a fertilizer salesman from Yazoo, Mississippi.

  1. Love, Love, LOVE Jerry Clower. I have several of his albums. My grandparents loved him so much they stole my parents album of Country Ham back in the 70's.

I too, grew up listening to Jerry Clower. He was great! My grandmother & great-grandmother loved him, & had a bunch of his 8-tracks, so they could listen in the car. One of the early ones who showed that you could work "clean" & still be funny.
Sort of got seduced away when I discovered Justin (that's Yoo-stan, for those who haven't heard him) Wilson, & used to watch his cooking show. It was educational--to this day, I can measure teaspoons and tablespoons in my hand, & they'll pour up accurate.

  4. Jerry Clower was the first concert I ever attended as a boy in Florida. I dragged my Mississippi-born father along. We were among the first in line and got front-row seats. Jerry was in the same red suit you see on him here, and had us laughing so hard we nearly died.
